Environmental Education Activities - School Year 2009/2010
Monti Simbruini Regional Park has planned Environmental Education activities linked to the Project together with the teachers involved.
The Environmental Education collaboration between the Park Authority and Schools has been continuing for some years now: it deals in particular with the Environmental Education Project - but not only - and culminated with the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 23rd January 2006. Considering last year experiences and analyzing both the positive aspects and problems, the Park has elaborated an Environmental Education program divided in more macro-areas.
First of all, the Park aims at continuing with the work done with the classes involved in the various levels of the GENS Project by thoroughly studying the issues dealt with last year and creating a link with regional initiatives, leading in this way the students of the largest protected area of Regione Lazio to become its spokespersons. As usual, there will be meetings with the Park operators and at least 1 trip.
This year, most of the activities will be carried out inside the elementary school of Jenne which is slowly becoming an "Environmental Education Center", developing the potentialities and experiences that the school has promoted since the Park establishment, 25 years ago.
